Now G2.iG is going to the prestigious $1,000,000 ESL One Birmingham LAN event. Which is a first in Dota 2 history. Not only did the Chinese powerhouse get their ticket, but they also set a crazy record for the longest Dota 2 series ever, with 5.5 hours!

ESL One Birmingham LAN Event: Start Being Very Aggressive

The exciting series began with a nail-biting 83-minute game one in favour of G2.iG. They showed off a powerful plan, with BoBoKa and xNova leading the way. Fans were on the edge of their seats when BoBoKa surprised them with an unexpected DPS build on a position four Clinkz that included items like Bloodthorn, Nullifier, Khanda, and Divine Rapier.

The next two games, which were also very heated, went on for almost an hour each. Azure Ray was able to win Game 2, but G2.iG quickly came back to win Game 3. G2.iG was pushed to their limits by Azure Ray as the final Game 4 got closer. They had to fight for 108 minutes straight. The already exciting series got a new twist when unusual item builds, like a Lion Basher and several Divine Rapiers, were added.

ESL One Birmingham LAN Event: Epic Ending

Even though G2.iG lost Game 4, they quickly got back together and went into Game 5 with a strong will. In the final game, they won and got their much-wanted ticket to ESL One Birmingham 2024.

ESL One Birmingham LAN Event: Casting duo breaks records

Not only did G2.iG make history, but John “johnxfire” Fernandeza and Mike “MLPDotA” Le Phoenix, who cast the show, also made history. They now have the record for the longest professional Dota 2 series. Before, they cast the longest game at TI11.

Group Stage (April 22–24, 2024):

There are two groups of six teams each.
Two games in each set
Top two teams from each group move on to the next round, while third through fourth place teams move on to the next round.
The remaining teams are out.
